Kehidupan Mahasiswa FK UMI: Lebih dari Sekadar Kuliah

Selamat datang di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Methodist Indonesia. Kami percaya bahwa proses menjadi seorang dokter yang kompeten dan berintegritas tidak hanya dibentuk di ruang kelas dan laboratorium, tetapi juga melalui pengalaman holistik selama masa studi.

Direktorat Kemahasiswaan FK UMI berkomitmen untuk menyediakan lingkungan yang suportif, inspiratif, dan menantang, memungkinkan setiap mahasiswa berkembang secara akademis, profesional, dan pribadi. Kami mendorong Anda untuk aktif berpartisipasi, berorganisasi, dan mengembangkan potensi diri di luar batas kurikulum formal.

Pendidikan Karakter dan Pengembangan Soft Skill

Menjadi dokter yang hebat memerlukan lebih dari sekadar pengetahuan medis yang mumpuni. Kami memfasilitasi berbagai kegiatan yang fokus pada pengembangan soft skill kritis:

  • Kepemimpinan dan Organisasi: Mahasiswa didorong untuk bergabung dan memimpin dalam organisasi kemahasiswaan, seperti Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) dan Senat Mahasiswa, yang melatih kemampuan manajerial, negosiasi, dan pengambilan keputusan.
  • Etika dan Profesionalisme: Melalui seminar dan program mentoring, kami menanamkan nilai-nilai etika kedokteran, integritas, dan profesionalisme yang mutlak diperlukan dalam praktik klinis.
  • Pelatihan Komunikasi Efektif: Program khusus untuk mengasah kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa, baik untuk berinteraksi dengan sesama kolega maupun, yang terpenting, dengan pasien dan keluarga pasien.

Kegiatan Ekstrakurikuler dan Organisasi

Kami memiliki berbagai Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) yang siap menjadi wadah bagi minat dan bakat Anda:

  • UKM Ilmiah: Mendukung minat riset dan penulisan ilmiah melalui kegiatan bedah jurnal, diskusi kasus klinis, dan partisipasi dalam kompetisi ilmiah nasional maupun internasional.
  • UKM Pengabdian Masyarakat (Medical Outreach): Memberikan kesempatan bagi mahasiswa untuk terjun langsung ke masyarakat melalui bakti sosial, penyuluhan kesehatan, dan kegiatan tanggap bencana, mengaplikasikan ilmu yang diperoleh secara nyata.
  • Seni, Budaya, dan Olahraga: Wadah untuk menjaga keseimbangan hidup mahasiswa melalui kegiatan rekreasi, seperti klub musik, klub olahraga (basket, futsal), dan kegiatan seni lainnya.

Layanan Konseling dan Kesejahteraan Mahasiswa

Kesehatan mental dan kesejahteraan mahasiswa adalah prioritas kami, mengingat tingginya tuntutan dalam pendidikan kedokteran.

  • Pusat Konseling Akademik dan Psikologis: Menyediakan layanan rahasia dan profesional untuk membantu mahasiswa mengelola stres akademik, masalah pribadi, atau kesulitan adaptasi.
  • Program Mentor-Mentee: Menghubungkan mahasiswa baru dengan mahasiswa senior dan dosen penasihat, memastikan mereka mendapatkan dukungan dan arahan personal selama masa studi.
